Just read up my prac for tmr.. got to collect my own blood sample again.. hahaha.. This would be the third time I m stabbing myself!!! And each time, more blood is need...
The first time was just a few drops of blood..
The second time was at least 50uL of blood..
And tmr, it would be 100uL of blood...

Hehehe.. I dont have chicken but I have the herbal chicken packet.. so i sub chicken with pork and beef.. then I wanted vege, so I added lots of peas, carrots and maize.. Hehehe..

Antigen Presenting Cells have MHC molecules on them.. There are 3 classes of MHC molecules.. Class 1, 2 and 3...
For MHC Class 2, 6 different alleles for the molecule.. 3 alleles are inherritated from your mum and 3 frm your dad..
MHC molecules present antigens to lymphocytes so that hopefully, one randomly synthesised lymphocyte in the primary lymphoid tissue will recognise the 3D structure of the antigen and binds to it.. This lymphocytes (T helper cells) then singal B cells to produce anitbodies so tat we can be protected...
There are millions n millions n millions of different alleles.. So the probabilty of finding 2 individuals having the same 6 alleles is very very low.. This ensures tat if a disease strike, some of us will survive.. OOoo.. So humans wont go extinct..
Know why we cant marry our close family members or relatives?This is coz if we do so, the number of alleles we have will be lower than 6.. and this decreases our immunity greatly.. So we are more subceptible to infections n diseases.. So lots of problems n no good..
Who do we like and how do we choose our other half?Studies have also shown that we prefer the smell of the opposite sex who have different alleles from us.. This ensures tat we have all 6 different kinds of alleles and not of the similar or same kind.. So that our immunity would be maximised. However, women on contraceptive pills will prefer smell of the opposite sex who have similar alleles as them..
SO BEWARE IF U ARE ON PILLS... one day when u decided to start a family, and stop taking the pills, u may start to hate your husband.. and thinks he smells like the rubbish bin.. hehehe.. How then do mice distinguish and prevent mating from close relatives? Mice prefer to mate with other mice who have different MHC alleles as compared to them.. and they distingush this by the smell of the other mice urine..

We were suppose to go for the Wairarapa International Hot Air Balloon Festival.. But due to the bad weather, the event was cancelled.. =( *So sad and disappointed when we got the news.. As we were already in the town.. And it was like a 2hrs drive at a speed of 150km/h... So we decided to go to the winenary as the town is famous for wine.. Tried a white and a red wine.. The white wine was very very good.. I love it.. Johnathan n his wife bought a bottle.. =)
Since our roadtrip was unsuccessfully, we decided not to waste our effort and journey and decided to head to
Castlepoint.. The drive was long n the road was bad.. lots of steep curve.. We were kinda regretting half way but decided to press on.. Finally, we reach the place and it was
BEAUTIFUL. No regrets.. Heheehe..

Its 12 degrees n I m still in my jacket n jeans.. hehehe.. Its not the temp that kills.. Its the constant strong wind.. The wind is making a mess of everything. Every single thing.. Went I was walking down the stairs after my lab today, I saw someone's notes being blown on the floor n all over the place.. And its still blowing.. there is no way to retrive it. The cleaner who was trying to help catch the notes left her trolley near the steps n her trolley was blown by the wind down the steps n everything dropped... omg! Leaves r everywhere since it is autumn and the wind is so strong.. And of course, hair gets messy all the time. So dont bother to tidy it until u r indoors..
Lesson for the day: If you wan to b a clearner, dont work in a country with strong wind...

Wild weather forecasted
Wild weather is expected to hit the region today.A severe weather warning has been issued for the southern North Island. MetService Forecaster Bob Lake says the nasty weather system is coming in from the south west bringing severe gales to the area between Taranaki, Hawkes Bay and Wellington. He says some areas could get gusts of up to 130 kilometres per hour this afternoon, which may make driving hazardous, lift unstable roofing and damage trees. Heavy rain is also expected over the Tararua and Ruahine Ranges this afternoon and residents are being advised to watch for rising streams and rivers.
The weather was really crazy today! It was 10degrees when I went out this noon and to make it worse, NZ is always so super windy! Super duper duper! When I was cooking, I saw gales!!! But it only lasted for a few seconds.. Crazy weather.. so cold!
OoooOo.. so happy n clean coz i vaccume my room todae! Yuppie!
But sian have been doing my West Nile Virus essay for one day le and have not complete it yet.. Ai yO!!

Had such a bad day yesterday.. Everything just seems to not go my way and smoothly. First, I had a hard time getting up for lecture, second, my lab partner was so *gong gong... (this is the best word I can think of). He doesnt even know which direction DNA replication takes place (basics).. so how on earth is he going to do the prac!? We had lots of work to be done.. N he kept asking me to slow down and every single step, I had to explain to him the prac and the theory behind it! N worse of all, he got bad breath.. N he keep moving nearer n nearer to me till I said ''can u move futher a little?'' And he is frm my fav country.. OooooooOoo... Thirdly, my parents are houndling me why I spend so much over at NZ.. I m on budget! So wats the prob.. And I m so stress abt money matters tat pimples are popping out.. Shit... Fourthly, I had another lab in the late noon.. It was such a long day la! N I was so tired n irritated n down...
Then at night when I talked to him, I screamed at him for no real reason.. I felt so so so guilty after screaming.. It was the most bad n guilty thing I ever did in my life la.. And worse of all, he didnt scream back at me... Thats the worst thing.. N he wasnt angry either.. After screaming, I apologise.. n he just asked ''are u really okay'' OMG.. So sad n guilty.. I m really sry.. =(

Jumped of a bridge today.. Hehee.. It was so crazy and fun!!! The worst part was taking the first step..
The guy was like asking me ''so do u wan me to push you?''
I was like ''i will jump..''
Hehehe.. It will be a whole lot easier if the guy was to push me.. Its the challenge of jumping into space.. hahaa.. *crazy ger..
Anyway, we got the choice of jumping from the platform or climbing up the rail and jump.. so me being me, I decided to go for the rail.. That was then I realised that I am not that short after all.. hahaha.. The difference when u climb up was like Wooo.. There is a HUGE difference..
After the jump, we went to do abseiling.. Oh it was nth.. Coz i done it before le.. So after tat, we went for lunch.. (BBQ lunch).. I m starting to be like the ppl here already.. haha.. taking the food n juz landing on the grass and happily eating and chatting my way away under the super hot sun..
Since the bus was not to leave after food, we walked down some slop and sit on some sand.. I went half way into the cold water.. It was still cold water.. With cliff around.. But it was so cold so i retreated.. Haha.. *So clever of me of wearing my bikini inside.. Ppl were like jumping of the cliff into the water.. hahaha..
Took the bus n headed back to town to do some personal shopping to love myself.. hehehe.. bought starbucks... YUMMY.. and bought body scrub and exfoliating gloves.. Hehehe..
Such a happy day.. Wooo.. I LOVE IT!!!

Haven been blogging for quite a while coz life is great here.. =) enjoying every moment of it.. I totally love the life here and this is a trip that I will never forget in my life.. I get to meet people from all parts of the world and we get to share our culture. What life is like in their country, how is it like.. And I get to live in a totally different country for like 5 mths. This is very different from going for a holiday because going for a holiday, you only get to see the country and not experience the country and get to know the ppl and their culture and their lifestyle.. I also get to plan which part of New Zealand I wanna go explore. And its really planning coz budget is tight here.. So got to do and see lots of things with such tiny budget.. =) **budgetting is so important! I get to learn to cook too.. Haha.. and I really can cook now.. **so proud of myself.. hehee.. Grocery shopping included of course! Being here allows me to grow so much and learn so much. I am shock how independent I really am.. Coz EVERY SINGLE thing have to be done by yourself.. Going away alone for a period of time also allows you to learn abt urself. How much pressure can you take? How independent can you be? How adaptable are you? Are you able to really survive on your own outside your comfort zone? I would encourage everyone to go for exchange if there is a chance and when my sisters enter university, I will ask them to go for one too. There are lots of learn in life. The textbooks in the entire world only covers 1%...
Okay got to go for hall meeting now..
Oh and btw, I AM GOING BRIDGE SWINGING THIS SATURDAY!!! I AM GOING TO JUMP OF A BRIDGE!!! OMG OMG OMG!!!
