What is the purpose of CNY?
Long long time ago, it was to chase away some 'dragon- monster' thingy... *sth along that line...
Now?
Gathering of long distance relatives?
Why do we only gather during CNY and not other times? (Another day for gathering would be when someone passed away...)
Since we only gather once a year during CNY, then wats the point? Does it mean your relatives actually do not mean that much to you.. The only reason you visit them is coz of CNY.. w/o CNY would you even visit them? Do they even cross your mind before at all? I bet 99.9% the answer is no.. Or is your reason for not visiting your relatives besides during CNY is due to the lack of time? But everyone is given 24hrs a day.. Its how you prioritise...
So I guess actually theses relatives mean nothing at all.. The only reason you visit them during CNY coz its CNY...
And why do people dress up till all so so pretty during visiting? I reckon is coz since you only see these 'relatives' once a year, you really do want to show them and let them know how good you are... Isnt this all about human nature? Hahaha.. *ironic..
